God and Country
The First AmendmentAmendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. |
The two things our family talks the most about are the two things we are warned to never talk about - religion and politics. It is a wonderful blessing of God to be able to do both! The First Amendment assures of this right!
The first sentence of this amendment is something you will not find any where else in the world. Religion and government are accepted as two life giving rivers that do not cross. History shows us that when the two most powerful forces in the world do cross, the result is tyrannical control over individual liberties. |
